Mother Elizabeth V. Wiggins, Affectionately known as "Vicki" was married in 1973 to her husband of 49 years, Dr. Jimmy Wiggins.She is the proud mother of 2 beautiful daughters, 1 grand-daughter, and 2 grandsons. Mother Wiggins is the 1st girl of 13 children and maintains a very close relationship with her family who regards her in high esteem.
Mother Wiggins was saved, sainctified and Holy Ghost filled March 10,1967, in a revival conducted by her grandmother Evangelist Izella Curtis and her twin sister Evangelist Ozella Woodard. This great revival took place at Bible-Way True Holiness Church of God in Christ Congregational, 1116 North 3rd Street in East St. Louis, Il. under the pastorate of Elder Joseph B. Jordan. These women of God were most instrumental in Mother Wiggins spiritual developement. Through the nurturing of her parents Elder Nathaniel Wood Sr. and Mother Tommie L. Wood her spiritual life was further developed.
Mother Wiggins served God in her youth, and early college days until the call of Pastorate was placed on her husband with whom she served for 39 years the congregation of Abundant Life Love Center C.O.G.I.C. in East St. Louis until his retirement in 2021. Mother Wiggins was an exemplary leader and model of a virtuous woman to Abundant Life, in many capacities. She transitioned her membership along with her husband Dr. Jimmy Wiggins in 2021 to the East St.Louis Emmanuel Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Eddie E. Clay Jr. where she is a faithful member.
Mother Wiggins graduated from St. Teresa Academy High School in in East St. Louis, Il. in 1972, and furthered her studies in a Nursing career for 46 years, in the areas of Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Wound Care and Director of Geriatric Medicine for 24 years before retiring, as well as Clinical management, in which she left an indelible mark on many lives in Christian stewardship.
Mother Wiggins entered Temple of Deliverance School of Theology in the Fall of 2016 to further her studies in Theology and Christian Counseling, for which she earned ne Doctorate Degree in 2019. Mother Wiggins served as an instructor to the Associate class for several years at Temple of Deliverance School of Theology and currently serves on the school's Board of Directors.
Mother Wiggins served as Assistant District Missionary in Illinois Southeast Jurisdiction District # 8 to Mother Rose Reed for many years , at the appointment by the late Supervisor Thelma Jean Scott. At Mother Reed's resignation, Mother Wiggins was appointed as District Missionary to District # 8 by Supervisor Mother Roxalana Moore in 2013. In 2017 Mother Wiggins was appointed by General Supervisor Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis as 1st Assistant Supervisor to Mother Myrtle Humphrey in Illinois Southeast Jurisdiction. Mother Wiggins served Mother Humphrey faithfully until her retirement in 2021.
At the retirement of Supervisor Myrtle L. Humphrey in 2021, Bishop Otis A. Eanes chose Mother Wiggins as Supervisor Designate to lead the Women's Department in IIlinois Southeast Jurisdiction. Mother Wiggins has served her Local, District, Jurisdiction church well in many capacities. Some areas to note : The Minister's Wives council, YPWW elect lady for District # 8, Evangelist Department, and Dean of the Illinois Southeast Missionary Academy School of Licensing. Mother Wiggins is also noted for initiating the "I Survived" services in her District, consisting of great and miraculous testimonies of people defying and overcoming medical odds through the power of God.
Mother Wiggins firmly believes in Holy and righteous living, leaders uniting in prayer, and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost is vital for leadership to be effective and to be an example in word as well as deed.
Her favorite scripture is Psalm 91:1-3 which she has firmly planted in her heart, decreeing it over her life and the lives of her loved ones, making it hers. Mother Wiggins will tell you what you need to know, to live a victorious Christian life abiding in the secret place. Her compassion for souls and love of God's word affords her a powerful and graceful delivery of the Holy Scriptures.
Mother Wiggins is deeply humbled by the challenges ahead in her new leadership role, and realizes her help comes from the Lord. She has accepted the assignment clothing herself in the "Whole Armour" of God according to Ephesians 6:11-18. Mother Wiggins sees a successful tenure in leadership and harmony among her sisters in zion and taken on the heart of a servant.
